Parental education is a key component to the success of ABA therapy, and we welcome parents to take an active role in aiding our therapy programs. Because much of the time children are outside our clinics, we equip parents with the tools and techniques to continue our various behavior interventions. Through observation and one-on-one training, our BCBAs explain protocols and answer questions so our parents can feel confident working with their child. This allows for consistent improvement whether in our care or at home.
Parental training provides practical strategies on a variety of topics that families can put into place on their own. It also helps deepen their understanding of ABA concepts. Examples of topics include: determining functions of behavior, preventing problem behavior, supporting language, feeding selectivity, and play skill development. Teaching our parents these skills supplement the child’s therapy program while they are away from the clinic.
We have formulated our therapy programs to help families achieve their child’s maximum potential. Our staff of specialists is here to support that mission in any way possible. Your BCBA will be available to work with you and improve your child’s experience to the highest degree possible both in our clinics and at home.
