This month, we feature Hunter Jones, who receives services at Autism ETC – Glendale, Arizona. Hunter began his journey in January 2024, shortly after receiving his autism diagnosis in December 2023.
Hunter’s mother, Jessica Jones, recalls those early days:
“Hunter was having behavioral difficulties. It seemed like anything I said would set him off, and we were having some rough times at home. I began searching for services and found Autism ETC. Their online reviews were outstanding, and I just knew this was the right place for Hunter.”
From the very beginning, Jessica felt supported.
“When we first came to Autism ETC, we were greeted by Kayla Ziolko and Kristen Burris. They were amazing. They knew how to connect with Hunter and helped him open up. I immediately felt comfortable leaving him at the center because I could see they truly understood his needs. Hunter started attending five mornings a week, and since school began, he now comes two afternoons after school. I was nervous about him starting school, but Kayla and Kristen even helped me through his IEP meeting. Thanks to their support, Hunter is thriving at school and with ABA therapy.”
Jessica has already noticed wonderful progress.
“Hunter is now using his words to communicate and can clearly express what he wants. He does this not only with us at home but also with his teachers and classmates. When I pick him up from school, he tells me about his day. Seeing him engage with others and share about his experiences feels like such incredible progress.”
Looking ahead, Jessica is hopeful and inspired:
“I believe Hunter can only continue to grow from here. There may be setbacks along the way, but I can’t wait to see how much progress he makes over the next three years.”
